Herbalife Apple Cake Recipe

 



Ingredients: 2 green apples from the Grand Smith variety, peeled, without the core, cut into small cubes 7 measuring spoons Formula powder 1 flavored vanilla strictly kosher 2 tablespoons measuring protein powder 2 tablespoons almond flour 2 teaspoons baking powder a pinch of salt ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon ½ a cup of low-fat milk / Soy drink / Almonds / Oatmeal 2 eggs 1 cork Concentrate Aloe vera drink Powdered sugar / Honey To serve

How to prepare: 
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Grease a springform pan 20 cm in diameter and line with baking paper.
  2. Place the Formula 1 vanilla powder, the protein powder, the baking powder, the almond flour, the pinch of salt, and the cinnamon in a bowl and mix well. 
  3. In a separate bowl, place the milk, eggs, and aloe vera concentrate and mix well. 
  4. Add the dry mixture to the batter and mix just until a uniform mixture is obtained. 
  5. Fold in the apple cubes. Transfer the mixture to a pan and use a spatula to flatten into a uniform layer. 
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden. The cake is ready when you insert a toothpick in the center and it comes out dry. 
  7. Remove the cake from the pan and cool on a wire rack. 
  8. Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar or pour a little honey over the cake.

Weight loss: The detailed 7-day GM diet plan

The GM diet, also known as the General Motors diet is a diet plan that promises to help you lose around 7 kilos in a week. The duration of the diet is one week and each day you are supposed to eat different foods.

The diet involves eating detoxifying foods that have negative calories. But does that work and is it healthy?


What exactly is the GM diet?

The GM diet as the full form suggests was created for the employees of General Motors in the year 1985. The diet was developed with help from the US Department of Agriculture and FDA, with detailed testing at the Johns Hopkins Research Centre.

But these claims have been debunked as an urban myths and the true origin of the GM diet still remains unknown.

The diet claims to help you...

The foods included in the diet are negative calorie foods, which means they provide you with fewer calories than they take to digest. Many foods recommended in the diet are high in water. Proponents of the diet say that you can repeat the diet multiple times to achieve your weight loss goals but there should be a gap of 5-7 days between two cycles.

Day 1 to Day 7: What to eat?

There is a different rule for each day. The diet recommends you to drink 8-12 glasses of water every day. Exercising along with the diet for weight loss is optional, however, it’s not required. The diet advises against exercising for the first three days.

You can have two-three bowls of “GM Wonder Soup” each day. The soup is made with cabbage, celery, onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers.

- Vegetarians can replace the meat with brown rice or cottage cheese.

- Have more and more water to flush out toxins.

Day 7

- Eat only brown rice, fruits, vegetables, and fruit juice

- There is no maximum amount specified for any of these foods.

Other guidelines

- Beans are now allowed on the diet as they are high in calories

- Coffee and green are allowed but only without the addition of sugar in them.

- You can use soy milk instead of regular milk and you can replace the meat with cheese or brown rice.

After following the diet for a week, it’s recommended to have a high protein, low carb diet to maintain the lost weight.

6 Evidence-Based Health Benefits of Lemons


Lemons are high in vitamin C, fiber, and various beneficial plant compounds.

These nutrients are responsible for several health benefits.

In fact, lemons may support heart health, weight control, and digestive health.

Here are 6 evidence-based health benefits of lemons.

1. Support Heart Health

Lemons are a good source of vitamin C.

One lemon provides about 31 mg of vitamin C, which is 51% of the reference daily intake (RDI).

Research shows that eating fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C reduces your risk of heart disease and stroke.

However, it’s not only the vitamin C that is thought to be good for your heart. The fiber and plant compounds in lemons could also significantly lower some risk factors for heart disease.

For instance, one study revealed that eating 24 grams of citrus fiber extract daily for a month reduced total blood cholesterol levels.

Plant compounds found in lemons — namely hesperidin and diosmin — have also been found to lower cholesterol.

SUMMARY

Lemons are high in heart-healthy vitamin C and several beneficial plant compounds that may lower cholesterol.

2. Help Control Weight

Lemons are often promoted as a weight-loss food, and there are a few theories as to why this is.

One common theory is that the soluble pectin fiber in them expands in your stomach, helping you feel full for longer.

That said, not many people eat lemons whole. And because lemon juice contains no pectin, lemon juice drinks will not promote fullness in the same way.

Another theory suggests that drinking hot water with lemon will help you lose weight.

3. Prevent Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are small lumps that form when waste products crystallize and build up in your kidneys.

They are quite common, and people who get them often get them repeatedly.

Citric acid may help prevent kidney stones by increasing urine volume and increasing urine pH, creating a less favorable environment for kidney stone formation.

Just a 1/2-cup (4 ounces or 125 ml) of lemon juice per day may provide enough citric acid to help prevent stone formation in people who have already had them.

Some studies also found that lemonade effectively prevented kidney stones, but the results have been mixed. Other studies have shown no effect.

Therefore, more well-conducted studies need to examine whether lemon juice affects kidney stone formation.

4. Protect Against Anemia

Iron deficiency anemia is quite common. It occurs when you don’t get enough iron from the foods you eat.

Lemons contain some iron, but they primarily prevent anemia by improving your absorption of iron from plant foods.

Your gut absorbs iron from meat, chicken, and fish (known as heme iron) very easily, while iron from plant sources (non-heme iron) not as easy. However, this absorption can be improved by consuming vitamin C and citric acid.

Because lemons contain both vitamin C and citric acid, they may protect against anemia by ensuring that you absorb as much iron as possible from your diet.

5. Reduce Cancer Risk

A healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables may help prevent some cancers.
